What is Stretch Percentage?
Stretch percentage in machine stretch wrap refers to how much the film can be stretched beyond its original length before being applied to a pallet load. It is expressed as a percentage of the film’s original length.
For example:
150% Stretch
A film with 150% stretch can be stretched to 2.5 times its original length
250% Stretch
A film with 250% stretch can be stretched to 3.5 times its original length
300% stretch
A film with 300% stretch can be stretched to 4 times its original length
Higher stretch percentages mean more pallets can be wrapped from each roll, improving efficiency and reducing material usage. In machine wrapping, the film is pre-stretched by the pallet wrapper, ensuring consistent application, strong load stability and maximum cost efficiency.
